In the 1998 film "Rush", a young journalist named Chris Dunn (played by Chris Hemsworth) learns that his mentor, old man Alec Trevelyan (played by Michael Shannon), is a spy. He's been investigating the Vietnam War-era disappearance of a city, and he wants the reporter to help him hunt down a man known as "Rusty". Rusty is a mysterious librarian who has access to government documents, and he's going to be the key to unraveling this mystery. Rusty calls Dunn from a secret location, and they have a brief, cryptic conversation in which Rusty tells Dunn that he was once a librarian in Saigon. In fact, Rusty was the librarian in charge of all government documents from that time - including copies of every telegram from the war - but when Rusty tried to get them out of the country, his superiors stopped him.

They told him that they didn't want anyone reading these documents ever again. At first, Rusty believes this is just another attempt by his superiors to scare him off - like when they threatened him with his family's safety if he didn't stop digging into their affairs. But then Rusty begins having flash-forwards of himself at the age of 60, reading historical documents about what really happened in Vietnam. At first he thinks it's just another hypnotherapy session or something like that - but then things begin happening...
